Why do you do what you do?

In 2013, when my son was only 12 weeks old, he suffered from a serious accident under his babysitter's care. We spent multiple weeks at the University of Virginia Pediatric Intensive Care Unit while he fought to make a recovery from his injuries. When my son was in the hospital, I made the commitment to begin the transition to being an independent business owner and advisor so that I could have the flexibility I needed to spend time with my children and family while also being able to give back to my community. With God's healing touch and the care of the staff at UVA – he fully recovered and is a vibrant, active, 110% boy, who loves sports and has a heart of gold. In 2018, I was finally able to gain full independence when I started Valley View Advisors. I'm now able to serve my clients with a servant's heart while also being able to spend time with my family and giving back.

How do you give back?

I have been actively involved in Rotary since 2017. Rotary has given me an opportunity to give back on a community level with our service projects, fundraisers and special events. Rotary has also allowed giving back on world level through the continued fundraising for the eradication of Polio and support to find clean water for those in need.

I also spend time coaching boys' baseball and girls' softball. The positive impact we can have on our youth is amazing. Sports and my coaches played a significant role in the development of my own beliefs and character.

Tell us a little about you and your family

My wife and I have been married for almost 18 years.  She is my rock and the one who provides the glue for our household.  We have 3 beautiful children who are all actively involved in sports and are doing wonderful in school.  I am blessed to have the family I do.

What do you like to do for fun?

I love spending time with my wife and children. As someone who came from a divorced home at the age of 3, I value the time with my family more than anything. I also love spending time outdoors. Whether it's golfing, fishing, hunting or simply relaxing outside, count me in.

Where did you go to school?

Liberty University (Go Flames!). While I studied business and finance, and I believe a good education is important, I have learned so much in the last 20 years while working in business development and finance that are applicable to our planning and advising processes.

Pets?

Yes, we have a chocolate lab and a Beaglier (beagle/King Charles Cavalier Spaniel Mix).
